Playground Rules
To begin the year, the sports council met and decided on playground rules for all pupils to follow during break time. They worked together and decided on the following rules together.
- 1) Play sensibly.
- 2) Be fair to everyone and allow everyone to play.
- 3) Tell an adult on duty if there are any problems.
- 4) Walk down to the yard and back up from the yar sensibly.
- 5) Be careful and play only where you allowed.
- 6) Always be well mannered and polite to everyone around you.
Once they decided on the playground rules, they held a whole school assembly to share the rules with the their peers and explained the importance of following the rules.
The sports Council decided to set a playground rotas to ensure that there are a variety of sports begin played and available at playtime. See the table below:
Road Safety Awareness Week
The sports council held an assembly to celebrate Road Safety Awareness Week. They planned what they wanted to share, explaining the importance of road safety.
Big Walk and Wheel 2026!
The Big Walk and Wheel was a brilliant way to celebrate active travel to school! The sports council were keen to prepare and plan for the Big Walk and Wheel.
The held an assembly with the rest of the school, recapping the celebration and sharing ways for all pupils to be involved how every they travel to school!
The children prepared the logging sheets and were ready to log the active journeys.
During the celebrations, the sports council logged the active journeys and encouraged all pupils and staff to participate.
Certificates were shared with the winning class, Dosbarth Y Garn! Pupils in Nursery and Reception made the most active journeys to school during the celebration.
LTA Grant.
Our school was awarded a LTA grant. The sports council decided to meet with Miss Richards and Connor from Spanish Soccer to decide what equipment they would like to purchase using the grant.
They completed an equipment audit with Connor and realised that we were missing a few essential items. They then decided together which items they wanted to purchase.
