STEM
STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
Science and Technology is a mandatory Area of Learning and Experience (AoLE) within the Curriculum for Wales for all learners aged 3–16. At Cefn Cribwr Primary School, we deliver STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) through this AoLE, ensuring it reflects the Four Purposes of the Curriculum:
- Ambitious, capable learners
- Enterprising, creative contributors
- Ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
- Healthy, confident individuals
STEM learning equips our pupils with the knowledge, skills, and experiences they need to understand and shape the world around them.
Vision and Aims
Our STEM curriculum aims to:
• Foster curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
• Enable learners to apply scientific and technological understanding to real-world contexts.
• Develop computational thinking and digital competence for the modern world.
• Promote sustainability and ethical responsibility in science and technology.
• Support learners to become confident innovators and informed citizens.
Through engaging, hands-on experiences, we aim to inspire every child to explore, question, and innovate - preparing them for a future full of possibilities.
