Literacy, Language and Communication
Literacy at Cefn Cribwr Primary School
Language is a means by which children learn about the world and communicate with their peers and practitioners. It is important that the different elements of language and literacy are seen as linking and having a purpose so they should not be taught in isolation from each other. Literacy skills are developed through real life and meaningful experiences for the childrenlearners. Literacy and its development is seen as the responsibility of all teachers/members of staff in school. It is vital that the children develop skills to have the ability to communicate accurately, fluently and persuasively across all areas of the curriculum. It is a partnership approach to teaching Literacy that involves all stakeholders.
