Spring Term 2024-2025 - 'Time Traveller'

Base Camp Day

Our whole school topic for Spring term is ‘Time Traveller’, and pupils in Dosbarth Yr Wyddfa will be focusing specifically on the Tudor period. Pupils will find out who the Tudors were and how they contributed to the history of Wales as we know it. Pupils will explore these questions and more in this project about a Welsh dynasty.

From our Base Camp Day and Pupil Voice sessions, the pupils have decided that they want to focus on the following three enquiry questions;

  • How did the Tudor dynasty begin?
  • How did Wales change during Tudor rule?
  • How did Tudor people live?

Mr Nick Coles

Nick Coles a local historian visited school to teach us more about the Tudor period, we got to listen to the gruesome tales and dress up in some traditional Tudor clothing and armoury.

Cooking

During our Adventures pupils researched traditional recipes from the Tudor times, then followed their own sets of instructions to make some delicious treats.

This term both Year 5 and Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to attend Pyle Swimming Pool to have a block of focused swimming lessons again.

The pupils attended daily sessions for one week where they learnt and developed their swimming skills.
