Our Learning this Term

This term we have enjoyed learning about the ocean! We enjoyed activities around Water Safety, and acting out sea rescues in our role play, taking it in turns to practise our "star fish" floating and taking on the role of an RNLI volunteer. We sang a song to learn about the different layers of the ocean and about the creatures that live there and how they adapt to their unique habitats. We have learnt about what marine animals we can find in rock pools and how best to look after them. 

Spring Term

Our Learning This Term

This term we have enjoyed travelling back in time to learn about Castles in Wales. We looked at why castles where built and how, who lived in them and some notable castles in Wales. We built our own castle in the role play, designed and created catapults during STEM and put on a show for parents to summarise our learning. We also loved visiting Cardiff Castle to learn about it's history.

For our topic, "Our World, Our Planet" we have enjoyed learning about the different animals we find on our planet. We looked at pets and how to look after them, animals big and small, as well as why different animals are suited to live in different habitats and on different continents.
